The Dutch company Van Oord is in charge of the construction of the offshore wind park Eneco Luchterduinen, which is located 23 kilometres off the coast of Zandvoort. The towers, nacelles and blades for the project are being loaded in Esbjerg on board of Van Oord's offshore installation vessel "Aeolus". Blue Water acts as agent for the vessel and has stevedores on the quay, who will ensure that the loading operations will be carried out as planned.

"In general, we are experiencing a great activity in the agency department in Esbjerg. This is among other things due to many ships calling at the port because of the many ongoing projects close to the port", says Klaus Odby, Port Agency Operation Manager.

After completion, the offshore wind farm will consist of 43 3MW wind turbines which will generate enough green electricity to around 150,000 households. The transport time from the Port of Esbjerg to the offshore wind farm is about 30 hours.
