Increased demand and capacity problems
Blue Water were responsible for the transport of the new shelters to the Qushtapa refugee camp in Iraq
Lifeshelters® can last many years and give the refugees better conditions, so we are proud to be part of the project
Thanks to the relief organisation Danish Refugee Council, the Qushtapa refugee camp in Iraq has received a number of shipments of the new and durable shelters called Lifeshelter®. The shelters are designed and developed by the Danish company Evershelter and distributed by Real Relief Habitat.
Blue Water's Aid & Relief team has been responsible for the transport.
"Evershelter and Real Relief Habitat have shared a vision of developing a strong and affordable shelter, which can be reused. Lifeshelters® have now been distributed to various locations in both The Middle East and Africa. Different aid organisations are testing the shelters in both Iraq, Uganda and Kenya where the weather conditions are very rough", says Johnny Mortensen, Head of Blue Water's Aid & Relief department in Billund.
This new type of reusable and cost-efficient shelters are much stronger and better than tents or tarpaulins.
"Lifeshelters® can last many years and give the refugees better conditions, so we are proud to be part of the project", says Johnny Mortensen.
