High-tech machine transport
Blue Water Copenhagen has invested in new flexible Libner trailers to their road department. These trailers are designed to transport part loads, full loads as well as containers
Blue Water has already more than 1,200 curtain and reefer trailers on the European roads and with this new investment, we aim to improve the service.
“With the flexible Libner trailers, we can take full advantage of our trailer fleet and optimise our service towards our clients”, says Lasse Franzen, Assistant Manager Road in Blue Water Copenhagen.
Through this new investment, the road department wishes to work closely together with the sea freight department in supplying the increasing demand for road transport of containers between Sealand and Germany.
“We experience a great demand for short transit times and increased flexibility. The new trailers will strengthen our capabilities for fulfilling our clients’ needs. They facilitate trucking of two 20’ containers or one 40’ container at a time – directly from point of collection to the quayside or the other way around. Our service will result in a time saving of up to ten days compared to the current feeder solutions in the market”, says Laila Teilhof, who is responsible for Sea Freight in Blue Water Copenhagen.
The trailers are purchased on trial for a period. If they show good results, Blue Water Copenhagen will evaluate and increase our fleet of this type of trailers.
The drivers of the custom-designed trailers have received in-depth training and been approved to deliver goods in port areas.
