For decades, Blue Water has been involved in worldwide project logistics operations and heavy lift assignments. In Marseille, focus on these areas has increased.

“The culture of Blue Water is to constantly seek other opportunities and we found that this particular niche within transport was, and still is, evolving rapidly. As a flexible organisation, we took advantage of the market conditions and today, we have accumulated in-depth knowledge of and experience within project logistics and heavy lifting”, says Lionel Guilbaud, General Manager for Blue Water Marseille.

Two shipments and more to come

The most recent projects included transportation of two shipments. Blue Water was responsible for the stowage plan, loading, lashing and sea freight of ship blocks destined for the OCEA shipyard and for providing the same services in connection with transporting patrol boats to the Philippines. In July and September/October, three further shipments of patrol boats will follow.

“The potential within this kind of business will be great in the years to come. So we will continue to focus on providing our clients with excellent logistics solutions”, says Lionel Guilbaud.

OCEA is specialised in design, building and support of aluminium boats. The head office is based in Les Sables d’Olonne on the west coast of France and employs nearly 300 people. The company works on four different fields of activity including maritime safety and security, passenger transport, motor yachts and work boats.
