Blue Water has been awarded the logistics contract for the Stockyard Hill Wind Farm in Victoria, Australia

30 August 2018 11:21

The logistics for the 149 wind turbines is set to commence at the end of August and includes port handling in China and Australia, chartering of 17 full vessels and heavy haulage from the port of Geelong to the project site.

3000 components, almost 1 million cubic metres of cargo including blades as long as 69 metres, will be managed by our experts in China, Singapore and Australia over a period of 15 months. Blue Water’s in-house developed track & trace system Compass Wind will provide full transparency of the cargo movements during the project.

With skilled and experienced in-house staff such as project and site managers, chartering managers, supercargoes and transport engineers at all interfaces, the project team ensures safe handling of all components.

The Stockyard Hill Wind Farm will be the fifth wind farm that Blue Water will be delivering in Australia since 2011. The company completed the White Rock windfarm for Goldwind in 2017 and we are very proud that Goldwind have entrusted us with another project in Australia.

Stockyard Hill Wind Farm
The project consists of 149 approved wind turbines located approximately 35 km west of Ballarat. The Stockyard Hill Wind Farm has the potential to harness one of Victoria’s best wind resources and will provide substantial environmental, community and economic benefits, and will have the potential to power approximately 390,000 homes annually.
