New people at the head of Sea, Air & Road
Blue Water recently arranged sea freight of various lighting equipment for the international airport in Maputo, the capital in Mozambique
By using a partner like Blue Water, we know that our products are in good hands
The transport was performed on the special DDP Incoterms (Delivered Duty Paid), which is not an easy task in Mozambique due to the local rules and regulations.
Blue Water Copenhagen was responsible for the transport and for ensuring that the documents were approved prior to the dispatch of the cargo. The supplier of the equipment was Induperm A/S i Nykobing Falster, Denmark.
“By using a partner like Blue Water, we know that our products are in good hands all the way and we are happy that our equipment is part of the upgrade of the Maputo Airport”, says the Managing Director of Induperm Matthias Schröter who was happy for the result and the trouble-free transport.
“Our local partner assisted us on the local part and once again it showed that visiting our partners inside Africa pays off. The relationship with these partners is very important and is a highly valued product that Blue Water can sell to its clients who often need logistical assistance within Africa. Even if the delivery terms are only up to the sea port, airport or an inland delivery is required, Blue Water’s experienced team can arrange this. We can even pay the local taxes and duties on our clients’ behalf”, says Kasper Larsen, Assistant Manager Sea Freight Export at Blue Water Copenhagen.
Both Johnny Mortensen, Head of our Humanitarian Aid Logistics team and Lionel Guilbaud, who is responsible for our African activities, have several times visited partners and agents in Africa with the main purpose of streamlining procedures to secure Best in Town service and to be updated on the rules and regulations locally. Only by doing so, we will get the commitment we saw from our partner in Mozambique when we delivered the shipment to the airport in Maputo“, says Johnny Mortensen.
