The Nord Stream 2 Pipeline will transport natural gas from some of the world’s largest reserves in Russia to Europe.

Blue Water is handling the transshipment of pipes – approx. 500 shipments in total - from the coating ports of Kotka, Finland and Mukran, Germany to the marshalling yards in Hanko. Finland and Karlshamn, Sweden, for which Blue Water is responsible for the operation. The yards are 31 hectares and 28 hectares respectively.

Since the summer of 2017, Blue Water has handled a total of 54,000 coated pipes by vessels into the terminals and received more than 16,000 coated pipes in Koverhar by train from Russia.

The yards are now close to capacity and the next phase of the project is commencing, where the pipes will be loaded from the terminals to the pipe feeder vessels supplying the big pipelay vessels “Solitaire” and “Pioneering Spirit” from AllSeas.
