Blue Water Gothenburg was entrusted by Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology to arrange transport of two stone crushers from the manufacturing plant in Svedala, Sweden to the port of discharge Fremantle in Australia.

“The minor parts and accessories were shipped in containers from Helsingborg via Maersk Line, and the oversize and major parts of the crushers (160 tons) were delivered to Gothenburg, loaded on Mafi trailers and shipped out on Hoegh Autoliners’ ro/ro vessel. “Dignity Ace”. The equipment left Sweden in early December and arrived In Freemantle in the middle and end of January respectively”, says Anna Hägerstrand, Coordinator on the project at Blue Water Gothenburg.

“Sandvik’s cone crushers are a very important part of the mining equipment for Anglo-Australian multinational metal and mining company Rio Tinto´s project in the West Angelas site located in Australia. Blue Water has provided excellent support to Sandvik during the entire logistics process, with continuous involvement starting already from the project planning phase until final delivery.

A solution for faster delivery of the goods has been found bringing to a reduction of transport costs instead of more expensive alternatives. The support with the documentation has been completely reliable, also the on-transit information has been very detailed and punctual, helping Sandvik in making the communication with the customer smoother and more effective says Luca Di Filippantonio, Freight Coordinator – Plant Solutions, Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology.
