Continued service by air to and from China
Blue Water’s creative solutions and viable alternatives help client fulfil contracts in a difficult and challenging time
Blue Water’s office in Chicago experiences an increase in the import of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – primarily face masks and gowns – from Mexico to multiple locations across the USA.
The importer is our long-time client VAI, who has increased their range of activities to include this niche business, which has been further developed during the Corona crisis.
“Due to a tight deadline, we have enabled creative and holistic solutions with air freight to Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami and more, where we have our truck with two drivers on stand-by, ready to load the equipment and perform delivery within 24 hours to commercial and Government customers. We have already handled several loads for VAI and more will follow, including shipments of rubber gloves from other countries”, says Jakob Zittlau Schmidt, Business Development Manager, Blue Water Chicago.
In Mexico, we partner with our agent, Asimex, where they take care of collection, packing, local export formalities and air freight to the USA in close collaboration with our Chicago office.
“Due to the scenario of COVID-19, we are faced with a new challenge, air transport, to meet urgent contracts from our customers here in the USA. Blue Water is a company that I cultivate a relationship of more than two decades with and have confidence in. Not only for the experience that they have, but mainly because the people who work there are extremely serious and with above average technical qualifications. Gradually, we have transferred our heavy loads, transported from Mexico to the USA, and today Blue Water serves us on almost 80% of our needs on that route. Even in a time like this, we manage to fulfil our contracts with their help, seeking solutions and viable alternatives for our air shipments”, says the very satisfied Commercial Director of VAI.
