Blue Water ensured that sausages and hot dogs were part of the menu at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo
Our good customer Danish Crown entrusted us with a very important assignment for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics which had been postponed until 23 July 2021 due to COVID-19. Our scope was to transport a classic Danish hot dog stand from the Royal Danish Embassy in Beijing, China to the Royal Danish Embassy in Tokyo, Japan.
“The hot dog stand was transported by sea. Despite the hectic market situation as well as more stringent customs and veterinary requirements in Japan, we managed to deliver on time. This made it possible to serve sausages at the opening ceremony in Tokyo and hot dogs at the silver party for the Danish handball men’s team”, says Lars Kristiansen from Blue Water’s Exhibition department in Esbjerg. Lars is temporarily seconded to our Sea Freight department who made good use of his vast experience and competences in connection with the transport.
