Approval secured for new 50,000 m2 facility at Port of Brisbane

The new warehouse will position Blue Water as the largest project forwarder at the Port of Brisbane

Blue Water Australia has received the green light to establish a 50,000m2 warehouse at the Port of Brisbane, Queensland, to open its doors by the end of next year. This significant expansion will position Blue Water as the largest project forwarder at the Port of Brisbane, enhancing its capacity for future projects within the state.

Steven Lofaro, Managing Director for Blue Water Australia, states that the new warehouse is a pivotal addition to the expanding operations. He emphasises the strategic advantage of its proximity to the wharf and the value for Blue Water chartered tonnage that services the Port of Brisbane: “By consolidating all our port activities within a single location and connecting shippers and consignees to our facility for streamlined one-stop import and export processing needs, we will unquestionably prove to be a significant asset,” adds Lofaro.

Dedicated supply base facility

This state-of-the-art warehouse will serve as a dedicated supply base facility for import and export operations, accommodating a mix of short-term transactional cargo and mid- to long-term storage services. The facility will offer varying types of Material Handling Equipment, from small forklifts to large container-handling equipment.

The layout will consist of a spacious 15,000m2 indoor warehouse, a 31,746m2 hardstand area, and space for offices and parking. Additionally, the yard will be utilised as a container park to support Blue Water Australia's existing shipping contracts, ensuring a comprehensive and efficient logistics solution.
