Surcharges and fees

Applicable for export/import reefer road transportation involving Denmark and below mentioned countries. If you need to know the charges for other countries, please contact your local Blue Water office.

Rates are adjusted monthly based on the average exchange rate of the previous month.

DK Road Tax for Reefer Road

As of 1 January 2025, a Danish road tax will be introduced for Danish and foreign trucks - see our rates below for national domestic traffic and international freight respectively.

Fuel Surcharges

Blue Water in Denmark has introduced a variable fuel surcharge for European road transport to and from Denmark.
Please be aware that the diesel surcharge will be adjusted if Blue Water's expense and pricing structure changes.

European Road Tax for Reefer Road

The EU Road Tax comprises all charges paid for Maut, road tax and toll in the European countries. The individual countries currently make minor and major adjustments of these charges which contribute to upgrading the road network.

Effective from 01.07.2026

From 1 July 2026, the Netherlands will introduce a distance-based road toll, similar to the system in Denmark. As a result of this toll, Blue Water will adjust its EU Road Tax for transport to and from the Netherlands, as well as for transit journeys to and from Belgium, France, Spain and Portugal via the Netherlands.
