Blue Water launches 3PL operations for ExxonMobil Guyana

Managing warehousing, inventory and logistics for offshore operations

Blue Water has commenced work under a thirdparty logistics (3PL) contract with ExxonMobil Guyana, providing warehouse and materials management services to support offshore operations. The contract was signed on March 4, 2026, with operations beginning on 15 April.

The scope includes overall management of ExxonMobil Guyana warehouse facilities, encompassing end‑to‑end materials management, warehouse operations, logistics coordination, goods receipt, storage and distribution, preservation management and the provision of material handling equipment. Operations are structured to support offshore drilling and production activities 24/7.

“This milestone reinforces our long-term commitment to Guyana and the Americas. We’re proud to expand our presence in the region while introducing world class logistics capabilities that support critical energy operations, says Steven Lofaro, Senior Vice President - EP&P Americas. At the heart of this work are people. By hiring and training locally, we’re creating meaningful opportunities for Guyanese talent and building a team that will grow with the industry for years to come.

Safety, training and inventory accuracy at the core of warehouse operations

The first phase of the contract includes 32 local hires in operational and supervisory roles, including warehouse supervisors, analysts, clerks, forklift operators, warehouse attendants, team leads and managers. Workforce expansion will occur in phases like activities scale, with approximately 50 people expected to directly support the scope at full implementation, along with an additional 10 in indirect roles. All positions are being filled locally, with training forming a core component of the rollout.

“Our focus is on delivering safe, efficient and accurate warehouse and materials management services to ensure continuity of ExxonMobil Guyana offshore operations,” says Richard DeNobrega, Country Manager - Guyana Sales & Development at Blue Water. “Health, safety, training and inventory accuracy are central to our execution as we balance operational performance with longterm capability development.

This contract further expands Blue Water's activities in Guyana and introduces a new service line for our Guyana division, aligning better with our broader supply chain and logistics offerings.

In addition to operational execution, the company will incorporate sustainability considerations into delivery of the contract. A portion of the material handling equipment fleet will be electric, supporting emissionsreduction efforts, while international best practices and lessons learned will be applied to promote a lean, efficient operating environment focused on continuous improvement.
