New CIO for Blue Water

Blue Water has appointed Steffen Juhl Andersen as IT Director

IT, digitalisation and automation are important parameters for many companies – including Blue Water, which in recent years has had strong focus on optimising and streamlining systems and processes to handle the clients' transport needs.

"Our most important task is to transport our customers' goods safely and efficiently, however, our customers' needs and requirements for data, KPIs and transparency are growing, and we therefore continue to invest significantly in our IT organisation and our digital setup", says Flemming Busch, Blue Water's CFO, who is also responsible for IT.

Today, Blue Water has almost 2,200 employees worldwide, of whom the IT organisation consists of 60 experts and specialists. With effect from 1 August, they will have a new manager when the current CIO Susanne Schustin resigns. For almost three years, she has been in charge of a successful reconstruction and transformation of IT.

"Susanne Schustin has contributed to creating a very agile and business-oriented approach to IT in Blue Water, and with Steffen Juhl Andersen as CIO, we will continue to focus on the close cooperation between IT, the business and our customers in order to optimise and improve our service," says Flemming Busch.

Steffen Juhl Andersen is an international and collaborative IT Executive with a vast amount of international management experience in leading IT organisations to deliver successful business transformation.

“Blue Water is an exciting company, and the job matches my ambitions perfectly. Equally essential for me to join the company is the passion and dedication among people I have met in Blue Water. I sense a unique culture and team spirit. So, I am looking forward to joining Blue Water and contributing to the current, strong development that has taken place on the IT side over the past two-three years. Blue Water has a strong and competent IT organisation, and the ambition is to continue and increase the close cooperation between IT and the operation. It is super important that the core IT platforms and infrastructure run stable and efficiently. In addition, we should focus on digital innovation to strengthen our position in the market,” says Steffen Juhl Andersen.
