Close dialogue turns logistics experience into practical improvements
Case
For us, the real value of this collaboration is that it doesn't stop at fixing individual issues – it's about building a logistics setup that scales with our growth. As we continue to expand into new markets, having a partner who understands our machinery makes a measurable difference.

A long-standing partnership between GreenTec A/S and Blue Water shows how transparent dialogue and shared knowledge can help reduce risks, improve cargo handling and continuously optimise logistics.
GreenTec A/S develops and manufactures machinery and hydraulic equipment for green area maintenance. The company has worked with Blue Water for many years, using our transport solutions across road, sea and air.
With machinery of different sizes and configurations – some of it transported without packaging – finding the right setup requires an understanding of both the products and how they are handled throughout the transport.
That is where close collaboration makes a difference.
Improving an already strong setup
The historical damage rate on GreenTec's shipments is very low. However, due to the varying sizes and weights of GreenTec's machinery, GreenTec and Blue Water identified an opportunity to further reduce the risk of damage and optimise the transport setup.
Following a small number of damage cases, Blue Water invited GreenTec to sit down together and review the handling of the cargo. The purpose was simple: to understand where the risks occurred and identify practical ways to reduce them further.
For GreenTec, this willingness to openly discuss challenges is an important part of the partnership.
“For us, the real value of this collaboration is that it doesn't stop at fixing individual issues – it's about building a logistics setup that scales with our growth. As we continue to expand into new markets, having a partner who understands our machinery makes a measurable difference,” says Mads Holmegaard Bekker-Christensen, Chief Production Officer and Co-owner at GreenTec.
Product knowledge meets logistics experience
The dialogue brought together GreenTec's detailed knowledge of its machinery and Blue Water's experience with cargo handling and transport. This resulted in several areas where the setup could be further optimised.
For smaller shipments, GreenTec has proactively developed a new pallet solution to better protect the machinery and reduce direct handling of the products. The cargo is secured to the pallet, which has been designed to provide stability during handling with forklifts.
GreenTec and Blue Water are now sharing their respective expertise to evaluate the solution and identify any further improvements before it is implemented more widely.
For larger shipments, the focus is on minimising handling. Wherever possible, direct trucks can be used to avoid transshipment at terminals along the way, reducing the number of times the machinery needs to be handled.
Finding the right solution for larger machinery
GreenTec is also seeing a growing need to transport larger machines from the UK to destinations across continental Europe.
Due to the weight of the machines and the varying delivery locations, GreenTec asked whether Blue Water could provide low-bed trailers with suitable ramps, allowing the machinery to be unloaded directly at its destination.
As this type of equipment is already available within Blue Water’s setup, we were able to offer the solution immediately and at no additional cost to GreenTec. Going forward, low-bed trailers will be used for the collection and delivery of these machines, providing a solution that better matches both the cargo and the conditions at the delivery locations.
It is another example of how understanding the customer's operations can translate into a transport solution adapted to the actual cargo and delivery conditions.
Continuous improvement through collaboration
There is rarely one single measure that optimises an entire logistics setup. In this case, improvements range from the way individual products are secured to pallets to how larger shipments are routed, handled and unloaded.
Together, these measures can reduce unnecessary handling, lower the risk of damage and create a transport setup that better matches GreenTec's products and operations.
The process also illustrates the value of addressing even small challenges proactively. Sharing experiences from both sides makes it possible to identify improvements before they become bigger issues.
As Mads puts it:
“It is always a pleasure meeting with Blue Water and experiencing the constructive energy we share.”
For GreenTec and Blue Water, that ongoing dialogue provides the foundation for continuously developing the logistics setup – combining product knowledge and logistics expertise to find practical solutions that work for GreenTec.
