The ferry arrived in the middle of July 2014, and since then Blue Water has handled a series of assignments for Scandlines.
"One of our first assignments was to transport six engine parts. The largest elements weighing 55 tons each. During the project, we arranged accommodation and rented warehouse facilities and containers. Also, we have transported a comprehensive amount of spare parts from Germany", says Jens Anker Gents from Blue Water Lindo.
During the project, Blue Water has been in close contact with Scandlines who have benefited from the flexibility that characterises Blue Water. When Scandlines started to test the ferry berths, they needed four fenders delivered with short notice.
"Fenders of that size are hard to get in Denmark. With help from our colleagues in Rotterdam, we picked up the fenders there. Their oversize dimensions and driving restrictions in Germany gave us a bit of a challenge with the transport. However, we managed to deliver the fenders on time enabling Scanlines to carry out their tests", says Jens Anker Gents.
